Pure Bliss

I packed things up today and headed out towards the beach with my mom and three kiddos. A perfect 70 degrees on the east end continued to the west end where we planted ourselves for two precious hours. The screaming, arguing, punching and wacking subsided. I didn't have to say "don't spit" or "put your hands on your head for three minutes for hitting." They rolled in the sand, yelped when the water came too close, waded, collected shells, snacked on sandy peanut butter crackers and attempted to help two fishermen get their boat off shore.

It was not quiet or peaceful but to me, it was pure bliss.

(Then both my kids screamed and refused to rinse off their suits at the shower so I lifted them up and held them in the water while they flailed and frolicked about).

I remember the first time I went with you and Kayley to the beach. She was really little, because she still called me Ta-Ta and was in diapers. You were sitting on the blanket and I took her to the water and put her feet in and she just kept saying, "All done, Ta-Ta, all done," over and over again. Oh, those were the days. I'm glad you had a nice time!

I wish I could say the same. Instead Peyton and I met Cory for lunch at the park. It was 84 degrees and a little humid. We sat under a tree on a blanket and ate Taco Bell while Peyton had some yogurt melts. I'd rather be at the beach than the park, but I guess it was good.

Pure bliss huh? Glad you're enjoying it. I'm sure I would if they were my kids too.
