Perspective

In one of my previous posts I mentioned our crazy neighbor. I can honestly say that the situation with her has caused us lots of grief in the past week or so. She made Tyler and I so mad. We have every right to be angry with her but there comes a point where being angry doesn't get you anywhere. So I decided to start praying for her. I really felt God speak to me and say "what right do you have to think you're better than this woman?" Pain and suffering is something that happens in all our lives, we just don't all deal with it in the same way. Thankfully I don't have a drinking problem but I have kicked a hole in our living room wall, screamed, quit eating and felt like I was literally going to die. I never thought I was capable of being so angry, so mean, so spiteful. But these are just the surface emotions for the deep, deep hurt I experienced. Thinking about it makes me hurt inside a little. But thinking about the hurt that Jan must be experiencing hurts more. How much more does the Father grieve for us when we're hurting? I can't imagine.

Yesterday Jan apologized to Tyler and told him that she would be moving away. I'm not relieved. I'm actually sad that I allowed myself to get so worked up over the whole thing. A nice slap in the face, actually. I'm a selfish brat who daily needs Jesus to save me from myself.

Thank you, Jesus, for giving me your perspective today. Amen.

Hello teeny embryos...

...I'm Phoebe Buffay. I love Friends. My coworker is a surrogate for a family and I like to quote her stuff from that episode. She thinks it's funny, naturally.

I'm breakin' the mold this Tuesday. No boring ten, only exciting information. In fact, the excitement has already begun. Georgia is in her office blasting some sorta gospel music and I can't help but sway to the musak.

Cole: "Are you picking me up from school tomorrow?"

Me: "Yes, then we're going to Chick Fil A for dinner."

Cole: "What kind of food is it?"

Me: "They serve chicken sandwiches, chicken strips and.."

Cole, interupting: "Chicken strips and chicken butts and chicken eyeballs."

Ah, boys, gotta love em.

This was at the Mother's Day party. I love how smiley Cole is the whole time. I just realized that you can't really see his face clearly, bummer.

Cousins!

Well, it wasn't as exciting as I hoped. I can't please you people all the time. :)

Ten Today

1. I lost another .6 last week. My total is 9.2 pounds lost! Just a bit till I get my second five pound star! Seriously, why didn't I start WW like five years ago when I was as big as a cow?

2. I love green grapes. And Luna bars. And bananas. And Cheetos.

3. I had a cheeseburger and fries from The Spot in Carpinteria for lunch on Wednesday. I haven't had either in forever! 24 points of absolute joy!

4. Tyler and I rode with Kayley to the Hobart skate park a couple of weeks ago.

5. I added up my sick, vacation and float time for the rest of the year and I have enough time to take eleven straight days off. I won't, of course, but I like to dream.

6. We watched Secretariat last week. What a great movie! I woke up the next morning feeling like I was made to ride.

7. We've had some drama with our neighbor lately. She drinks a lot and is very loud. I asked her nicely to keep it down the other night and she flipped out on me. She called the police because she said I was disturbing the peace. She also said I have no right to tell her to be quiet because she owns her condo and we rent. Ok lady, you're nuts. You know me, always causing trouble. I think she actually pretended to call because the police never showed up. I'm thankful that for every one miserable person I come in contact with I have a handful of people who have their heads screwed on properly and deal with their crisis without drowning their liver in alcohol.

8. Noah came over yesterday for a few hours. Cousins have so much fun playing together!

9. Five more weeks until baby Leah will be here!

10. I made an appointment with the dermatologist. Let the slicing begin.

Friday

Friday, friday, gotta get down on friday. Shame on Glee for doing that song this week.

Rip roarin' early Fridays have now begun. We close at one now!

I'm getting the house ready for Aunt Lisa to come visit. Raeleen's baby shower is Sunday so she'll be staying a couple of days. Oh, and they're naming their baby Leah. I think it's a cute name. Taryn's baby will have the name Ryan after Justin's middle name.

Do you have any ideas of what I might be able to reward myself with when I reach my 10% goal? It can't be food!

Awesome for me that there is still a virus on my computer at work. Four days of work didn't get it. It's so chaotic trying to work from computers that are away from the front of the office. Erg.

Ya know, I'd really love to go to Idaho for vacation this summer. I don't know if we can make it work with Tyler in school but I really want to! We may have to go camping around here instead.

Happy Friday!!!

Ten On Tuesday

1. Sometimes my computer at work makes really loud, annoying sounds like it's a helicopter. Sometimes I kick it (gently, of course) to make it stop. It's what must be done. Today a fake anti spyware attacked it and left it unusable all day. Such fun for me.

2. I had the opportunity to attend one of my Aunt Linda's concerts a couple weeks ago with my parents and Kayley. I don't love classical music on the radio but it is sure great live. Soothing, actually. If only I had continued my dream to be a concert flautist...

3. Almost all the girls together in one place!

4. Happy Birthday, Grandma Eve. You're missed. Her birthday was last Tuesday but I'm a blog slacker.

5. Only a month and a half until school is out, wow. We find out who Cole's teacher is at the end of May. One in Kindergarten and one in second grade. Holy moly.

6. I took the friday before Mother's Day off to go to Muffins for Mom's at K's school and a tea party at Cole's. I felt so mommied! Sunday was so nice, too. Tyler and the kids brought me breakfast in bed (carefully made with my points in mind) and the rest of the day was spent hangin' out with my mommy and family.

7. I lost a half a pound last weigh in and three pounds this week!! I have now lost five percent of my starting weight! Yipee!! Oh, and I think I'm going to try and do a 5K. I have a ways to go (I'm only running two miles at a time right now) but I think I could get there maybe by the fall. I'm not sure I was made to be a runner but I'll keep trying as long as my knees don't hurt.

8. Today Tyler had an appointment with his surgeon. His leg is doing great! In fact, she said she doesn't need to see him anymore. Thank you Jesus!

9. Coffee Bean open house was tonight. I had some tasty blended mint coffee beverage. Tasty stuff indeed.

10. Our community garage sale is this weekend. Hopefully we can get rid of some stuff and make a little money while we're at it!
