Ten On Tuesday

1. Tyler left today after being here for a week. He watched the kids most days last week while I worked and they loved that! It was a really great time and we'll miss him a lot. No one will ever fully understand why or how this is all working but all I can say is that God is amazing.

2. Cole's getting really good at his backdive!

3. I lost three pounds last week! 10 more pounds and I'll be my goal weight. Up, down, up, down. Darn temptations!

4. Kayley's first day went fine at her new childcare center. You know, minus the part where they watched Pokemon. Needless to say, we're switching to a new one.

5. I'm excited that Lindsay is here! Swedish pancakes call our names!

6. Kayley loves to tell me that she's "working out the kinks." It's hilarious coming out of her mouth!

7. My birthday is in 35 days. I'm not normally a birthday freak (ahem, Krista) and count down the days but, well, I guess I am this year.

8. Tyler and I watched Dollhouse a few times this week. It's not my favorite show but it's definitely a good one.

9. We waited for four hours at the ID office on base yesterday. It's ridiculous how long they make you wait sometimes!

10. I seriously hope July is full of sunshine. I'm tired of the icky overcast sky.

Friday

Yay for a day off!

I went to the dentist yesterday. Everything is so technologically advanced these days! It shouldn't surprise me, but it does. I signed in on a computer kiosk and filled out all my health history, too. The dental assistant asked me "so what exactly IS melanoma?" Uh, skin cancer you dope. Anyway, my dentist is one of the sweetest, non judgmental people I've ever met and she has had melanoma, too. I got two fillings and have to go back for two more. I'm amazed I don't have more cavities. I haven't had dental insurance in years! Anyway, I'm blessed to have it now.

Speaking of insurance, who wants to pay at $115,000 hospital bill? We owe about 1/115 of that! Now we're REALLY blessed to have insurance!

Things are going really well right now! God is proving himself faithful. It's amazing what He can do when I take my hand off of things!!

Not Me! Monday

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

It's been too long since I did Not Me! Monday. Here goes:

After the pool the other day Cole did not take off his board shorts in the front yard and pee on the ground. He did not proceed to say "look, its a puppet show with my pee! See the giraffe and the elephant?" Seriously, that did not happen!

I did not sweat so much at the garage sale this weekend that my bangs were so greasy and unfortunate for all viewers. At least I made a nice bundle of cash!

Cole did not tell Kayley that I was carrying her in my belly and that I squirt milk out my bra to feed her belly. Nope, not my kid!!

Kayley is starting a new day camp on Wednesdays. It is not a huge issue about what to wear on the first day. She also did not tell me that her legs were fat. I told her that was ridiculous because she eats healthy and exercises. And that the Dawson girls all have unfortunately large thighs. Jk, I didn't say that. It makes me wonder how often I criticize my looks and weight around her.

I did not clean the bathroom for the first time in over a month. That is not disgusting. I think we just adapt to the bacteria living among us;)

I did not get so emotional at Pastor Tony's last day at First Assembly. I don't go there anymore but I did, for 15 of the 16 they were there, and I wanted to say goodbye. And anytime someone puts Josh Groban as music for a slide show it calls for tears!

I do not think that Peyton and Hunter are old enough now to do fun and crazy things so Kim and Lindsay should do a Not Me! Monday too.

I wish I had more to blog about. I'm just plain tired. Working, getting ready for the garage sale tomorrow and a run/walk with the kids around the big Kimball park did me in! I'm glad we went to the park. The gym is great but I love to get out there and make the kids sweat too! My goal was to exaust them and it worked. :)

I hope everyone has a happy weekend!

Ten On Tuesday

1.I allowed my son to go to school today in highwater pants. He's grown a couple inches and now none of his pants fit!

2. I'm pretty sure it was just yesterday that Tyler and I were driving to the hospital to have Kayley. Now, almost six and a half years later, she's graduating from Kindergarten. It makes me feel old! When did 25 become old?

3. Four more days until the coolest garage sale ever. It'll be interesting getting my kids out of bed at 6am. Here's hoping for good sales!

4. I'm finally going to get internet at my house. Welcome to the 21st century, Steph.

5. I find it odd that there's a kind of Splenda with added fiber.

6. I'm very ready for school to be out. Kayley is too. She's just exausted and ready to sleep in!

7. I haven't had coffee yet today and I'm really struggling to stay awake!

8. I'm craving chocolate like crazy. Too bad Kim isn't here to share a pan of brownies with.

9. I really wish the sun would come out in the morning.

10. I've struggled with things to write for this entire post. That's why I'm posting it on Wednesday instead of Tuesday!

Yes....

....this is, indeed, a Whodidily Cupcake. It's an overpriced, amazingly wonderful treat for my mouth. Loving it, loving it, mmm, mmm. And yes, I will be running on the treadmill for a long time tonight to burn off the calories!

Lady Antebellum & Tim McGraw

Here are the pictures from the concert, courtesy of Joanna. We were a tad camera happy!

Before the concert

Pretty San Bernadino sunset

Please note the shirtless cowboy dancing all by his big self!

Still waiting...

It was otherwise a real nice picture!

Strikin' a pose

I really like this one

Yes, we were that far away. It was still awesome though. Those big screens were really clear.

Marina Park

Kayley's class went to Marina Park the other day on a learning trip. I'm glad I was able to go because it was really fun for her!

They waited so patiently for their turn on the zip line...

...and Kayley was so excited!

They learned about the sand dunes...

....and rode to and from the beach in the bus with seatbelts!!!

I don't know about you, but as a kid I never had seatbelts on my bus. I wonder how long it took them to come up with that idea! Doh!

Five Fabulous Things

1. I lost two pounds last week!

2. Lindsay is probably coming home to visit!

3. Just a few more days until Tyler can put weight on his leg!

4. Kayley will be a first grader next week!

5. Santa Barbara city college is out for summer and there has been no traffic at all on the way to work!

Ten On Tuesday

1. Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw were amazing! Krista, Joanna and I had such a good time! There were lots of girls dressed like cowgirl ho bags and a few who actually looked pretty stinkin' cute. After tolerating big fat men practically stepping on us for an hour we got sick of them. One of the guys fell on top of me. He told me I was pretty and asked me if I liked to have a good time. He didn't like my answer and called us bi*ches so we moved higher up and enjoyed the rest of the concert, Coors Light in hand (which is so disgusting, by the way), swaying to the music and singing Tim Mcgraw at the top of our lungs! God bless the big guy, he didn't even know what he was doing he was so wasted. Next time we'll get seats in the amphitheater and not on the grass above.

2. Cole got into my makeup bag yesterday and rubbed eyeshadow all over my sheets. I guess that's what I get for leaving it out!

3. Cole told me that God plants seeds in the mommies belly and it grows into a man. Haha.

4. My favorite thing to do is read to the kids. They love it!

5. Today is Kayley's field trip to the beach. I took today off instead of Friday so I can go with her class.

6.Last week was a BAD week. Some happy things are happening so I'm feeling better now.

7. Katie came over Saturday and helped me do some housework. It was one of the things my counselor suggested to help reduce stress that I jumped on right away.

8. Me, Krista and some other people are having a garage sale in a couple weeks. My proceeds will go to paying for my bridesmaid dress.

9. So, due to my schedule, I've struggled to get at least 30 min. of excercise every day. I've managed four days a week. I'm happy with that.

10. I really want to go to the water park at Lake Casitas. This weekend, perhaps.

I love you, Grandma

My grandma is getting worse and worse. She has been in bed a lot, not getting up to eat. My dad is making mortuary arrangements today. It's so sad. I cried on my way to work today. I think the kids and I are going to see her this afternoon.

I have to remind myself that the joy of the Lord is my strength. When I can't drag myself out of bed and I just want to crawl under a rock and sleep for days, He lifts my head and gives me strength to move on. If nothing else, my two crazy kids give me a reason to smile today.

Bleh, blah, blurg

Today is a blah day for me.

I saw a page on Facebook talking about doing a thing in June where you walk, run or do some other form of excercise for thirty minutes every day. I decided to do it but with a little freedom in case I really can't get it in for a day. My first day was yesterday. See you tonight, Krista!

I just need another crisis, then I can get to my goal weight!
Haha, just kidding.

Ten On Tuesday

1. Kayley pointed out to my neighbor that her bathing suit showed her boobs. Cole told her she was wearing her bra outside. The kids were rude but pointed out exactly what I was thinking. I made them apologize.

2. I'm so blessed that my parents help me out so much. My dad has been taking one kid to school every morning to make it less stressful for me. And my mom watches them after school. What would I do without them?!

3. We went swimming today and I put sunscreen everywhere except for my pasty white legs. My lil' knees are sunburnt! But I put so much all over my scars and face. We had a lot of fun racing with the noodles in the pool. What a great day it was!

4. We made rice krispie treats. Mmmm.

5. I cleaned out both cars and got the Magnum detailed this weekend. That thing was dirty. Mine was gross inside too.

6. My fridge makes weird grunting sounds.

7. I cut all sugary cereals out of our diet. We're eating cheerios, wheat squares, rice crispies and special k. No more honey bunches of oats or granola for a while. Cole is such a sweets lover. I have to do it for the sake of his teeth 'til he will let me brush better. I'm not cutting out sugar altogether, just in things he eats on a regular basis. Its good for all of us really.

8. It's so gloomy outside. I cannot believe that it's June already. 16 more days until Kayley is a big first grader!

9. Cole and I went hiking with Georgia on Sunday. We went up to a pool with a rock water slide. The water felt so good after hiking up there! And I wasn't even cold all soaking wet hiking back. It was the most fun I've had in a while. I took these with my phone so the quality isn't great and please excuse my loud voice on the video.

All ready with his pack and hat on!

He was a bit worried to go so I went down first!

10. I had the best weekend I've had in a really long time. After a four day weekend and I didn't even mind getting up for work today!

And Tyler bent his leg 92 degrees today, yay!
