My (not so) Secret Shames

1. I listen to boy bands on my Ipod at the gym. And when I run on the treadmill next to guys I always run longer than normal to prove my awesomeness.

2. My flats make my feet stink really bad.

3. I change three times in the morning before I'm comfortable with my outfit.

4. I love me some crispy taco supremes from Taco Bell.
This one was for you, Hillary.

5. I hadn't cleaned my shower in two months until this week.

6. The hem came out on my black work pants three weeks ago and I still wear them. No one has even noticed that the hem stays in because of four carefully placed safety pins.

7. I'm not a morning person. I was forced to be one by motherhood.

8. I had a wart on my foot for 10 years, extracted from the swimming baths (pools) in Scotland. It was a nice little piece of memorabilia but thankfully it's gone. Gross, huh?

9. I eat way too many Hershey's kisses on a daily basis. 12 is a serving size you know.

10. I have nothing to say for this one but I have this weird thing about odd numbers. I just had to include number ten.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Cole has a fever. He woke up tonight screaming, scared out of his shorts about something. Poor little guy.

2. Both kids have Mother's Day parties coming up next week. I love it when they make me things and I'm excited to see what they come up with!

3. Kayley: "Ok Cole. I'm just going to sit on you for a while."

Cole: "Nooooooo!"

Kayley: "I'm not really going to do it, its just a figure of speech."

Interesting.

4. I'm so annoyed tonight. Why do some people think that they are fooling the world when in reality everyone knows exactly what they are doing?

5. Cole learned how to play brick breaker on my phone.

6. I love my Cole.

And he just crawled in bed with me. He's sick and something tells me it'll be a long night.

7. Cole looks like he's been out in the sun in this picture. He definitely has his daddy's skin tone.

8. I'm really hoping for a day this week that isn't dreary. I could use a little light in my life.

9. I wish I had something that stopped me from making dumb choices. You know, besides my conscience and self control.

10. I think I will sign Kayley up to play soccer in the fall.

I love...

...my Blackberry. I love that Joanna gave it to me. I love everything it does.

...fruit roll ups. I bought two of them, one for each kid, that will now need to be replaced before they realize they're gone!

...inside jokes. And I love people who are able to take a joke. If you can't you should lighten up!

...that my kids are just as weird as I am.

...the Chipettes from Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

...Anjelah Johnson. She's hilarious. Whoa, I just realized she's in the chipmunks movie.

...the four way Facebook conversations with me, Krista, Kim and Hillary. We come up with the weirdest stuff.

...Trader Joes honey wheat pretzel sticks.

...this picture Kim took in November of 2008. Kayley was 4, Cole was 2. I find my choice of clothing weird and I love that Cole is being squished. I believe the kids also scaled the top of the batting cages with Tyler at this park. I can't wait till Kim and Peyton get here in May and we can have lots more fun photo shoots with the kids!

Oh, what a weekend.

I just want to sleep all the time. I bought Red Bull to wake me up because Diet Coke and coffee are just not doing it for me anymore.

I managed to go to the gym on Friday and did some good cardio. I'm surprisingly not sore at all. I think once I get back into the gym routine I won't be as tired.

Starting tomorrow I'll be working four days. I'm not sure what day I'll have off but this week it's Monday.

Here's hoping for a good week.

Ten Things I Want to Do

1. Go to a piano bar.

2. Put my toes in the ocean where I can see all the way to the bottom.

3. Get a facial.

4. Buy a house, maybe in England.

5. Visit Overton House. This is the place we lived for part of the time we were in Scotland. My heart will always love Britain. This picture is small but it's the only one I could find of the whole place. It's so incredible that we used to run around inside there and announce that dinner was served over the intercom! Good times.

6. Go on a cruise to Alaska.

7. Have a personal pizookie chef for whenever I want one.

8. Get a puppy. I don't know what kind.

9. Go back to school and get a degree in something.

10. Be teleported back to my teens so I can shop at Millers Outpost, get ice cream from Thrifty, wear overalls (yikes), go to youth group camps and flirt with boys, sacrifice comfort for jeans that are too tight but very sexy, sleep in until 1pm, make money but pay no rent, spend all my time with my friends and boyfriends and have little responsibility. Ah, those were the days.

The woman in this video is crazy.

Hillary, this is the one I was trying to find.

Friday

Friday. Thank goodness you've come.

Kayley and Cole are a really great reason to get up, go to work and live a normal life today.

If I didn't have them I don't know what I would do.

Ten Things About Today

1. Cole woke up this morning thinking he was entitled to waffles for breakfast.

2. I can't believe It's already Thursday. This week has just gone by so fast.

3. This is a good day. I can breathe deep and I didn't wake up with a headache. Thank you God.

4. Kayley: "There's a person up high in that tree making it move."

Me: "Um, sure sweety. I think it's just the wind."

Kayley: "I'm kidding, made you look!"

There's no doubt she thinks she's hilarious.

5. I got my back ordered ring. It's purdy.

6. Since tax season is over it's a lot slower around here. I'm working with the other ladies to get the old files down to the basement and get everything organized. It's a nice excuse to wear jeans to work!

7. Someone on facebook posted this: "Don't cry over spilt milk. Just get angry and punch a cow." Ha!

8. I found Kayley a camoflage skirt. And it didn't cost $30 like the pair of shorts I saw at Justice.

9. It's real funny to watch the elderly have road rage in Montecito. Half of them shouldn't even be driving.

10. I wish the laundry fairy would come to my house and put away the pile on my couch. I would also like a gas fairy so I never have to fill up. I used to have one of those. Speaking of fairies, Kayley should lose her tooth pretty soon. It's super jiggly.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1....

....Blastoff!!!

I took Cole to the spaceship dentist today for his very first appointment. I'm so proud of my little guy for doing such a great job.

I couldn't help but laugh!

Look at that mop. I buzzed it off tonight after seeing this picture.

He was such a patient kid the whole time

Fluoride!
(Please note the four bottles behind him displaying babies teeth that are rotten from having juice in their bottles. That is so disgusting. I don't think I put juice in my kids bottles even once.)

The best part of the dentist!

As a side note I'd like to share this story:

This evening Kayley was play asteroid on the computer in my room. I walked out and back in the room 10 minutes later and she had opened up the internet browser and was searching on Google for books and toys! I never taught that kid how to use the internet and I made it clear it would not happen again. She's way to smart for her own good.

Ten On Tuesday- Trip To See Hillary

1. My trip on the plane to MO was really nice and easy, except that there was an old man next to me who farted the whole time. Ew.

Traveling alone turned out to be a breeze. The hardest part was finding my way onto the right freeways to get to Springfield. The people there drive painfully slow and I felt out of place without a big truck pulling some sort of heavy equipment behind me. All in all, it wasn't too bad. I'm pretty sure that it was a whole lot easier than if I were from another state just driving in CA for the first time.

This is what it looked like for a good part of the three hour drive:

2. I weighed myself when I got there and weighed myself when I left. I gained two pounds. It was totally worth the Coco Pebbles I had for breakfast every day. It's gross now that I think about it.

3. I love Candace and her puppy. And by puppy I mean Hillary.

She really does have a puppy but I didn't take a picture of it.

4. I bought grey Converse. I love them. This picture makes me look like I have one leg and two feet.

5. After church on Sunday Hillary and I met up with Alicia and Billy for lunch at Panera Bread. Yum. It was nice to catch up with old friends!

6. We went to Branson on Saturday and I got to see what people call the Ozark "mountains." It's pretty much a bunch of hills. Too bad I missed Dolly Parton's show. I was really looking forward to it. I also visited Bass Pro Shop. The best part about it was the people who shop there.

Here's me on the fountain in Branson.

7. I bought a Justin Beiber CD. Don't judge me.

8. The guy at the rental car place told me that his momma always tells him that it takes more muscles to frown than to smile. What a weirdo. He was really young and had surprisingly nice teeth. They ended up charging me $40 less than they should have for the rental car, too. Things like that happen when I bat my eyelashes. Jk jk lol.

9. I got window seats on both flights home yesterday. Looking at the world from up that high is truly amazing. I had a handsome black man sit next to me on one of the flights. I almost asked him to be my baby daddy. Then I remembered I already have one.

10. My kids ran up to me at full speed and gave me giant hugs when I got home. I missed their little faces. I'm glad to be home. I'm also glad for a day off today too!

Tax Season and Traveling

Tax season is over. If I had to fill out another one of those stupid certified return receipt forms for the post office my fingers would start bleeding. In the end I guess it was all worth it because I got a bonus check today!

It's 11:20 and I'm still waiting for Aunt Lisa to get here. Her car broke down before she got to Santa Barbara and she's on her way with the tow truck. Such a bummer!

I've packed, confirmed my flight, confirmed my rental car, printed directions to Springfield, made notes for each of the kids to open every day (morning and night) and finished the laundry. I won't get much sleep tonight but it doesn't matter. I can sleep in all weekend if I want to!

I'm going to miss my kids but man I need the rest. I'll be home on Monday night and I'm taking Tuesday off work too!

Five Things I Love About Today

1. It's April 15th!

2. I get to wear jeans to work today.

3. Aunt Lisa is coming to stay over the weekend to take care of my kiddos.

4. Just 24 hours till my trip!

5. The kids will get to see their dad soon. They miss him like crazy.

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Ten On Tuesday

1. Kayley gave this to me in an envelope that said "from mom."

Such a jokester

2. The kids talked to Tyler tonight. It made them both sad but they prayed for him before bed tonight that he would get better soon.

3. An article on Yahoo today spoke of the worst kids pasta meal at a restaurant. It was some alfredo thing from the cheesecake factory and it had 1800 calories! I mean, I would eat it but my kids? No way man.

4. I got three hours of sleep last night. It was not enough.

5. I'm so glad that Kim and Cory's baby is a boy! Yay for Levi!

6. The kids and I had a pillow fight tonight. Kayley packs a pretty hard beatdown when she hits me the right way. Cole just wanted me to steal his pillow and beat him with it!

7. School gets out in two months and Kayley will almost be a first grader. I cannot believe it. I feel like I should already be making summer plans!

8. Happy Birthday tomorrow, Krista!!! How is it possible that we're all in our middle to upper 20's now? Madness!

9. Cole stays at school all day on Wednesdays. You would think he wouldn't like it but he absolutely loves it! He loves bringing lunch and taking a nap at school. There is nothing like knowing my child is content while I work.

10. I tried to upload a video of Cole but it didn't work. It's really funny so when I have time I'll try again.

Tuesday

I could look at my life today and say its terrible Tuesday. This would be my default reaction. Instead today I decided that although its freakin hard, I'm going to look for the good things, like Coles crazy bed head today, my pay raise, Kayleys farts that come often and loudly, and my diet coke and lean pocket for lunch. Above all I'm at peace in knowing that my life might blow right now but it will get better no matter what happens. And Friday morning will be all kinds of better since I will be on my way to Missouri!

A Good Day!

Today is the busiest day I've ever had at work but it is a great day!
I was told earlier that I get to keep my job and I got a $2 raise! Woo hoo! Thank you God!
It can only get better from here.
I made brownies last night. It was absolutely necessary.

God please let today be better.

I have nothing exciting to blog about

I bought the kids legos today. It was the best thing I could ever do. They were perfectly happy building spaceships all afternoon. We read lots of books today too. Kayley reads so well and she surprises me when she reads giant words. She's quite a kid.

This morning Cole was naked after his shower he ran down the hall and proceeded to spread open his rear end and shake it while making a pooping sound with his tongue. I couldn't help but laugh. It was quite gross though.

This week should be crazy. The 15th is almost here!

Saturday, April 10, 2010

Whew!

I got so much done today! I have nothing left to do but blog about my day. I managed to get everything on my list accomplished (it took me all of three minutes in Ross to find the perfect jewelry box) plus a trip to feed my aunts birds, a visit with Grandpa Frank and a bike ride over the bridge to Mound for some play time. The kids tried to play basketball with me and it was hilarious. I took a couple of pictures while the kids were playing.

She would stop and pose in the middle of digging a hole!

On a side note, who is this Justin Bieber character who is like 10 years old and singing about doing anything to get his baby back? What could he possibly know about heartbreak at his age? And I'm in no way, shape or form racist but I only spotted like three white kids in this video. And I cannot stop watching it. Ha!

Saturday

It's 7:40 and my kids are still sleeping.

I wasn't able to find someone to watch the kids today so they let me have it off! I love my job and how flexible they are with my schedule. I'm very blessed.

Here are my goals for the day:

1. Put away the giant pile of clean laundry I've already folded.

2. Clean the house, vacuum, dust, etc.

3. Take Kayley to her appointment at 11.

4. Begin my quest for a new jewelry box. I think I'll start at Ross and I might end up at the mall if I don't find anything I like.

5. Spend lots of time with my kids. I missed them when they were gone the last couple of days.

Today should be a good day!

Thoughts

I am thinking... that my mind is a whirlwind of thoughts and worries.

I am wearing… my pj's.

I am remembering… when my boss told everyone his life is like Benjamin Button, only in reverse. Doh!

I am going… to Missouri in a week! My plane leaves around this time!

I am hoping… my heart will stop hurting someday.

On my mind… that darn baby upstairs wakes me up every day. I'm so glad my kids are older now. No diapers, no crying all the time, not as many giant messes and lots more fun!

Noticing that… shopping at Kohl's is always a successful shopping trip. They have certain clothes that just seem to fit. It's great.

Pondering these words… I have no words to ponder.

From the kitchen… I got nothing for this one. I'm never home and barely cook anymore.

Around the house… my laundry pile is a mountain.

One of my favorite things... pizookies and raspberry lemon drop martinis. You can get one big pizookie or you can get three little ones from BJ's. Isn't that great? Krista, I had fun last night!

Happy Friday!!

Thursday

I dropped of the kids at my moms this morning, blankies and pillows in tow. They were off to a museum in Fillmore and then off to orange county. Tomorrow they will stop by and see Grandma Jackie and Pop and then they'll be headed home. I hope they have a really fun time!

I have nothin' to do today besides an appointment at 7. Then Krista and I are going out for drinks. I'm so glad that I've been working today otherwise it would have been a much more difficult day.

Hurray for Friday tomorrow! Although, I just remember I'm working Saturday too. Well, hurray for overtime!

Lia Sophia

When I got home tonight I had a great surprise! I got my Lia Sophia jewelry!

I got four necklaces, five pairs of earrings, one bracelet, one key chain and a ring and a necklace that are on back order. Click on the picture so you can see the colors in the necklaces. They're so purty!

My kids enjoyed the bunch of boxes that it all came in.

Kayley's smile reminds me of one of Hillary's faker smiles.

Ten On Tuesday

1. Only 9 days until I go to Missouri!

2. Joanna gave me her Blackberry. I love it lots.

3. Its spring break for Kayley so I'm going in to work a little later than usual so I can spend some extra time with the kids. This morning we went to breakfast at McDonalds. We had egg mcmuffins without canadian bacon, apples and oj. It was a special thing for the kids since I hardly ever take them out anymore. Kayley made sure I knew that McDonald was an Irish name:)

4. My mom is taking the kids to the OC Thursday. I'm making plans to go out with friends and it should be a rip roarin time.

5. This week is pure madness at work. It's the week before the end of tax season so I'm working Saturday.

6. I talked to an old friend this week. Its crazy how time flies!

7. I washed my hair this morning with cowabunga coconut shampoo. I ran out of mine and the kids' shampoo left my hair silky smooth and shiny. I'm surprised.

8. I bought new socks and underwear for all of us today. It's not interesting but it's a fact.

9. I went to sleep last night before 10pm, no rolling around in bed, just straight to sleep. It was wonderful!

10. Barefoot white zinfandel is my new favorite wine.

Easter

Today turned out really nice. We went to church in the morning with Joanna and her boyfriend, Tommy. Then we went home to relax for a bit, then went to my parents house for lunch. It was just immediate family so it was real low key. Joanna and Tommy and I went to the hot tub for a while, then we went home. It was a stress free day.

They were supposed to jump at the same time. It didn't quite work!

My dad tucked his tie in just like he does when he eats :)

I have to admit...

...I never thought my life would be the way it is now. Things get complicated and broken people become even more broken. I'd say I've had my share of things happen that could cause me to be angry with God and decide to go the opposite direction. But I hold onto Him and the hope in his promises. God has proven himself to me so many times and I will not give up faith because things suck. Through His son Jesus I am free to live a life without condemnation. In the end I will answer to God alone for the choices I have made.

I don't care if people think I'm crazy. I make mistakes. God loves me anyway. End of story.

Happy Easter!!
