Yup, this is my offspring...

Ten On Thursday

1. The weather has been awesome! Summer is right around the corner!

2. The kids had a sock hop at school last Friday night and Jen and I wanted to make poodle skirts for the girls. So we bought the stuff we needed and got to work. It was hard to work with the size of fabric we had but it ended up ok thanks to Barbie who helped a lot with the sewing. Now that I think about it, I should have taken pictures as we progressed. Oh, well.

3. Saturday morning we had a garage sale with my Aunt Kathleen. She sells Tupperware and had a ton of stuff to sell. She made hundreds of dollars! I made $40. Not bad, especially since I didn't have enough to have a sale of my own.

4. I'm now an official member of True North Fitness and Health. It's unlike any other gym I've been to. I'm doing lots of strength training so it's not about weight loss, it's about getting fit. I've never done so many squats in my life! Every time they challenge me beyond what I think I can handle I think of how much jiggle I have on my inner thighs. It really helps me power through.

5. Our vacation rental is booked for Shaver and I've secured a dog/house sitter! I'm so excited to get away, hang at the beach, hike, and just enjoy time with my family. Two more months to go!

This was Shaver 2010. I'm hoping this year will be just as great!

6. This summer is the first where Tyler and I will both be working. I was nervous about what we would do with the kids but it seems to be working out. They'll be spending some time with grandma and some at Y camp just down the street from where I work. Perfecto!

7. I went to the dentist this morning because I had pain in my tooth. I have to see an endodontist because they think I have something wrong with the root of my tooth. I don't get how the root can go bad without a cavity. And it's not like I can keep my root clean. I'll be really annoyed if I have to spend money on this thing.

8. Does anyone watch How I Met Your Mother? I'm watching the old episodes on Netflix and it's super funny.

9. My coworker, Brandy, is a surrogate and is pretty much as big as a house. We like to circle around her and joke that she has her own orbit. It's true. Her belly is giant and she's having the baby next week. I don't know if I'll have the opportunity to hold little Nathaniel (since the French couple is flying in to be there for the birth) but I'm going to be there for some of the labor process. I've never seen a baby emerge, except for my own (yes, my doctor held up a mirror so I could see. Awesome.). Who knows if I'll be there that long but it would be cool if it happened when I was there!

10. Tomorrow begins my four day weekend! Tyler and I are going on a bike ride in the morning. I'm really looking forward to some quality time with him! Happy holiday weekend guys!

Ten On Tuesday Wednesday

1.I've been getting my butt kicked at the gym I'm trying out for a few weeks. It's a group fitness gym and it's so challenging and fantastic.

2. Tyler's work is chartering a bus to a Dodger game this week and I get to go!

3. The kids and I went to the water park while Tyler was at school on Saturday. They are at such a great age. They swam and checked in with me whenever they moved from the big pool, play pool and waterslides and, with the exception of a swim and a waterslide ride, I just got to lay there and apply sunscreen seven times in a three hour period. Good times!

4. I'm not usually a creeper but I couldn't resist on this one. After dropping the kids off at school one day I came to the stoplight and viewed this lovely young lady and her hot pink slippers she deemed acceptable for footwear in public. I wasn't a gem in high school but I can say I never wore my slippers to school. Maybe it's the new thing, like wearing leggings for pants.

5. Kayley had to pick a place in our community to do a report on and she chose Marina Park. We went on an adventure to see if we could find something new there (since we've been many times) and we found a million tiny crabs and a few hermit crabs, too! The one Kayley has on the bark was much larger and actually pinched. It was a fun day of discovery!

6. Plans are in the mix for our trip to Shaver this year. I'm so excited!

7. Tyler is working a 17 hour day today. I actually won't see him until Friday this week. But it's all good. The cash flow is iight.

8. Cole told me this morning "25 days until I'm a first grader and Kayley is a third grader!" First of all, OH MY GOSH. And second of all, OH MY GOSH!

9. I got another score on the Target clearance rack yesterday. $7 shirt minus $3 off any Mossimo brand clothing coupon printed from Target online equals a $4 shirt for me!

10. Today is so nice outside! It's the perfect day to celebrate the new job of our former backup receptionist and my awesome new buddy, Taylor. After two years of looking she has a full time position in Santa Barbara!
