Thursday Update

My posts will probably be less and less frequent since tax season has arrived. Things are extremely busy, at home and at work, and blogging just isn't a priority I spose.

We bought Tyler a Jeep last week. It's pretty sweet and fun to ride in. We bought it at a great price and we're both really happy about it. We also got a new couch...finally! We've had the same ones for six years and they were in pretty bad shape. So we went shopping with a bargain in mind and came home with a new sectional for $700! I got the rug below from a friend for my living room and it was a bargain, too. It has been a week of fabulous savings and I love it!

Last night I did a trial run of the 5k that's on Sunday. I ran 3.1 miles in 38 minutes and 40 seconds. I have never run that far without stopping in my whole life. I feel very prepared for the run!

Kim and Krista came up for lunch today. We went to the park down the street from the office and I got to hang out with a couple of my favorite little people!

Ten On Tuesday

1. Doesn't Kayley look so much like me in this picture?

2.Last week I interviewed five people for our temp position for tax season. I'm really happy with the girl we hired. She started yesterday and she's doing really well.

3. We bought the kids Nintendo 3DS's for their birthday. Kayley got a red one and Cole got a blue one. They were so surprised! On their birthday we let the kiddos bring them to dinner at BJ's and play them, something we always judge other parents for letting their kids do. I just think it's rude to be around people and play games all the time. So they got to be rude on their birthday and never again.

4. We went to the Teppan Steakhouse for dinner for the kids' birthday (again) last week. They loved the experience! Cole ate all his veggies, too!

5. I'm on week four of the Ease into 5K program and it's going well. My average is a 12 minute mile so far. I'm hoping for closer to a 10 minute mile but I probably won't get there before I run the 10k.

6. I finished our taxes last week. It was kind of fun using our software and figuring things out myself.

7. Kayley has the second round of the flu, poor baby. We have all had it already and I'm gonna be real annoyed if it spreads around again.

8. Cole has really started to be quite the reader. You'll notice I help him a lot in this one (it's a little advanced) but he gets a lot of the words himself. Sorry it's so long. And sideways.

9. Cole loves his best friend Daniel!

10. I'm real proud of this post. Even though I'm a day late I posted three pictures and a video! I'm actually trying to blog!
