On Vacation and Loving It!

We are here in wonderful Idaho! Today is actually our first day just relaxing. We've been busy out on the boat, on the beach, riding Jeff and Kindra's horse, Tucker, playing with kitties, chasing the dogs and zooming down the zipline! Cole even did the zipline by himself, fell and came to me with a scraped up face. Kayley's cast has been a challenge because although it can get wet, it's a pain when the sand gets inside. We'll have to stick to just the pool for her for the rest of the time. The kids are having a blast and we're enjoying spending time with Aunt Sybil, Uncle Ed, Jeff and Kindra. We're taking lots of pictures that I'll post later. Yay for vacation!

Rockin' Red

After lots of waiting, Kayley got her cast on yesterday. Usually they aren't waterproof because of the cotton lining between the skin and the fiberglass but we were able to purchase a different kind of lining that would allow her to go in water! They also gave her a little boot that keeps the cast from getting dirty. It took her all of 10 minutes to learn how to run in the thing but hey, what did you expect? It's Kayley we're talking about here! I'm very happy with the orthopedist we saw and I'm glad the waiting is over.

Ashley watched Cole while we were at the doctor and she took these pictures when we got back.

In case you were wondering, I don't ever brush my daughters' hair.

Ten On Tuesday

1. Our Ross and Rachel (on again, off again) vacation is now on again. I guess you never knew it was off. But it's for sure on and we're leaving on Friday!

2. Kayley's foot has looked like this all weekend:

Today we go to get a cast. I don't know what kind they'll do but I'm hoping it's a boot that we can take off if need be.

3. We painted the towel bar, toilet paper holder and the hand towel thing brown to match the bathroom.

Now I need new towels, rugs and a shower curtain and the room will be complete!

4. I took the day off from Matthew. I haven't watched him in three weeks.

5. I went to Michaels and bought Kayley four or five little dollar projects to keep her busy while she can't do much. She loves them and I feel like a good mom (for now anyway).

6. We have sworn off all fast food eating including the Coffee Bean and quick trips to get Diet Coke. We have got to catch up on our bills!

7. I saw the dentist yesterday about my tooth. It's $200 to pull it and I will be getting it done soon. The office is way into deep Oxnard and I was caught off guard when the Asian dentist started speaking Spanish!

8. Every time we go to church I like it more and more. I really think the free donuts will probably be the death of my diet. Haha.

9. I really want to hold all of my favorite babies.

10. I'M SO EXCITED FOR VACATION!!!!!!!

No Motivation

It will take a miracle for me to motivate myself to do a Not Me! post tomorrow. In other words, it aint gonna happen. I will be spending the day figuring out childcare for Cole, transporting Kayley (and Katie) to the doctor and then helping her adjust to her new cast. My back is so sore from carrying her and she's so annoyed with having to sit all the time. I'm trying hard to not have a bad attitude and remember that I'm not the one with the broken foot!

Crazy Park Circle Spinny Things Do Make for Broken Bones

Kayley has a broken foot. Not the toes or the ankle but in between. Holy moley people. One week before vacation! Poor kid. I win the mother of the year award for thinking she was a faker. Pray for a speedy healing, please!

Not a Faker

She's not fakin' it. Her foot really is bruised and she still cannot walk on it. I'll be taking her into the doctor today. Please pray that she heals quickly. I'll keep you posted on how the doctor visit goes.

Wet Pants and Injured Feet

So it turns out I am going crazy.

I have encountered not one, but two unfriendly, crabbily judging mothers at the park this week (so far). In order to flee from the one today the kids and I headed over to the park in the middle of Camino Real. Then after two seconds of being there Kayley fell off of something on the structure I've never seen before and injured her foot. I carried her to the bathroom, Cole peed his pants before we could get there, Katie wouldn't walk in the street and sat down in the middle of the walkway and refused to move and when we did make it to the car Kayley cried the whole way home telling me I shouldn't have taken her there and that the park was an awful place. We made it home and the little ones are asleep. Kayley still won't walk on her foot and I have two options:

1. Kayley is full of crap and she's the best faker ever.
2. There is only a bit of bruising and no signs of breakage but is still injured.

What's a mother to do?
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

On the bright side I got to see Wistie and her boyfriend today. She's 21! I can't believe it. She'll always be 12 to me.

Ten On Tuesday

1. I'm sitting in the room where Katie is sleeping and I'm doing this. Hope she doesn't wake up!

2. My phone died and I can't find my charger.

3. We weren't going to Idaho because of money but now we can go!

4. YouTube said it's going to take an hour and a half to upload my video. Is that normal?

5. Denny died. We replaced it and told the kids his name is new Denny. They seriously don't care that he died because the new fish has red in it. Ha!

6. Cole is going to try out gymnastics this afternoon.

7. My stomach is so upset right now.

8. I wish in my heart that people would think with their brains before they make big decisions with their lives and not think with their emotions.

9. All the kids are sleeping for the first time in forever!

10. Oh my goodness. After an hour of "uploading" the video didn't even upload on YouTube.

A Day Late

Here are my Not Me's (not in Not Me form):

At the park the other day Cole really had to pee. We were at a park where there was no bathroom so I let him go through the fence by the barranca (is that how you spell that?). When he was done I turned around and there was Kayley, fully undressed on the bottom and ready to squat and go all over her pants. I told her that there were anatomical differences between boys and girls and she couldn’t go there. She got so mad at me. I forced her pants up and told her we would head home. I walked toward the car and she said “I’m going in my pants then!” I said, “You better not!” And she did. All I had was a race car pull up. She wore nothing but that till we got home.

At Kayley’s graduation each child received a diploma and a Kids Bible. After the first one was given out Cole realized that Kayley already had that one. So for the first few kids Cole would shout “hey, that’s the same one sissy has!” for all to hear. After a while he stopped saying it and Krista said, “Hey Cole, that’s the same one sissy has!” He shouted “I know Krista, stop saying that!” It was so funny.

I am so addicted to YoVille on Facebook.

I’ve been freaking out over Kayley being out of school and having to find things for all of us to do every day of the week. Today seems to have gone well though. We successfully managed a trip to the bank, the property management company, Blockbuster and Starbucks (an absolute necessity!). I took all the kids to the pool and, since I found the toddler life jacket for Katie, sat back and relaxed and let all the kids play. Ah summer, how I love thee.

Kayley's Graduation

After much anticipation, the pictures have arrived. Sorry I broke my promise. Life is just way too crazy lately. Blogger uploaded the pictures in a backwards sort of way so they start from lunch afterward to before we left the house in the morning. Oh, and I totally forgot to take the day off so Katie joined us. She fits in as a part of the fam so it wasn't a problem.

Keep looking for the videos. I'll post 'em when I can.

Graduation

This morning was Kayley's preschool graduation. It was so much fun to watch all the kids in their caps singing songs and getting their "diplomas." I have lots of pictures and a few videos to post but I havn't had much time to do any of that lately. I promise I'll post them this weekend for sure so keep your eyes out.
(This better be good enough for you. You know who you are. How dare you withhold your avitar friendship.)

Ten on Tuesday

1. Matthew is sleeping right now. Phew.

2. My eyes are so heavy I just want to fall asleep right here.

3. We tried out Calvary Chapel in Camarillo this week. I really like it.

4. My parents are leaving for Shaver Lake on Saturday for two weeks! That means no help from mom on Tuesdays and I'll have to figure out a way to take Kayley to gymnastics with the other kids in tow.

5. I so cannot believe that it's already June. Too bad the gloom comes along with it.

6. I rearanged some things in the kids room and got rid of the toddler toys. I'm so proud of the organization. I'll have to post a picture of the room for your veiwing pleasure.

7. Friday is Kayley's preschool graduation. Grandma Jackie and Pop, Krista, Joanna, Tim, my parents and Grandpa Frank will all be there to celebrate with us! It will be interesting having Katie with us too. I didn't think about getting that time off until this week. Unfortunately this has to be Kayley's last week of school. Lord help me this summer!

8. Our trip to Idaho may not work out. If it doesn't we'll take my parents tent trailer and camp somewhere local for the weekend. I think that would be really fun too! Of course Idaho would be much better.

9. I'm hungry. Some Turkey Jerky sounds satisfying.

10. I'm amazed that this morning went by fast. It's almost noon and almost nap time!

Not Me! Monday

Head over to MckMama's blog to she what she and other people have not being doing this week!

After painting my nails I did not leave the nail polish sitting closed halfway and within Cole's reach. I did not snap this picture before I disciplined him.

Kayley did not tell me last night that sometimes she gets hungry in the night and eats the skin around her nails. Ew.

Now that Kayley has met her teacher for Kindergarten she is so motivated to do all things big kids do. She has been washing her own hair (mostly) and there is no possible way I'm relieved to have to do one less thing around here.

My hubby would never be crazy enough to get up at 3am and wait in line for the free clinic so I wouldn't have to get up until 5am. Thanks Tyler! That 25 minutes with the dentist were more painful than anything I've experienced (excluding childbirth!) I have never had tears running down my face like that at the dentist before. My tooth is now filled and needs to be pulled by an oral surgeon. Anyone see any money falling out of the sky? Me either.

I'm happy that I got to see Hillary this weekend. We did not find a dark parking lot and chat it up late at night. And my kids did not purposely put the darts from the toy guns in the kitty water at the Kaudse's house. Not my kids. No way.

Lil' Cole

Ten On Tuesday

1. I didn't get into the clinic today to get my tooth pulled. I have to get there very early (like 5am) to get in because they only take the first 8 people. Tyler is going to wait on Thursday morning so I don't have to get up so early.

2. On Sunday Tyler and I went to a gathering of all the Christian churches in Camarillo at the high school. It was amazing. The speaker was awesome and the singer was Lincoln Brewster. I didn't know he was somewhat famous until I got there. At least 100 people accepted Christ that day! I love it when people get together like that.

3. Kayley is so 5 going on 18. And she has developed a new case of extreme distraction. It takes lots of redirecting to get something accomplished these days!

4. I went to the mall today with Katie and Kayley. I love chatting with other moms while the kids are playing.

5. Matthew's mom wants me to watch him another day during the week for all of June. I haven't decided if I'm going to do it yet.

6. Do you like my new blog background? It took forever to choose one and I'm still not fully in love with it. I think I'll keep the family pics off until Kim takes some new ones in August.

7. I got new socks and they are so soft and wonderful.

8. It's nice that Hillary will be here for the weekend. I'm excited!

9. I just read on Yahoo that it takes about an hour of walking to burn the calories from one donut. Shocking? Not really. I'm still going to eat donuts.

10. I wish to hold my new baby friend Katelyn. I havn't seen her since she was one week old.

Not Me! Monday

Hurray for Not Me! Monday. Go to MckMama's blog to see what she and other people have not done this week!

The kids were gone this weekend and although they came home without bumps or bruises they each came with a story.

I packed enough pull ups but Cole ran out. So he ended up taking a nap without a pull up on. Mistake number one. He yelled to someone that he had to go potty but no one heard him. Mistake number two. Speaking of number two, he went in his pants because he couldn't hold it anymore. Then he walked down the hall and did not stop to pull off his pants and chones. Aunt Lisa told me there were not about 15 poop spots in her hallway by the time she realized what he was doing. There is no way I'm grateful it didn't happen in my hallway. The moral of the story is: put a pull up on Cole.

Kayley's mishap was car involved. Noah and Kayley were definitely not on top of Aunt Lisa's wet car in her steep driveway. Noah was able to get down off the back but Kayley was struggling. She lost her grip and tumbled down the windshield, down the hood and onto the ground. Luckily she didn't get hurt. Seriously people? Why on earth would you let children up on the top of a car anyway?

We did not recieve a letter from Mound School this week saying that Kayley's teacher is Ms. Miller and her classrom is K22. Tyler and I would never get all sentimental about her starting school and talk about silly details like what kind of backpack she should carry. Kayley is so not excited that she gets to meet her teacher on Thursday and and loves that her room is K (for Kayley) and 22 (for dad's favorite number). And I am definately not overjoyed that she is in the a.m. class!

Last but not least, I totally did not crack and chip my tooth again this week. I'm going to the Salvation Army free dental clinic tomorrow to beg someone to pull it for me. I can't get insurance until July so please pray that they will be able to help me.
