Ten On Tuesday

1. Today is Tuesday, right? I can barely keep track.

2. I watched Pastor Jim Deck’s grandson today. I’m glad I have kids who were on a schedule from an early age. Good thing it’s only one day a week.

3. I’m helping plan a surprise baby shower for Jen Franco.

4. I wish it were legal to handcuff a three year old.

5. Next week is madness: Saturday: Chelsie’s shower
Sunday: Sing for choir in am and pm
Monday: Bible study
Tuesday: Choir practice
Wednesday: Kayley’s doctor appt. for her kindergarten check up, tb test, hearing test and blood work, then pm choir practice and dress rehearsal.
Thursday: Cole’s doctor appt. for preschool checkup and hearing test
Friday: Take Kayley back to the doctor to check tb test, Good Friday service and Living Last Supper play.
Saturday: Community Easter Egg hunt
Sunday: Easter
Monday: Bible study

You wanted to know my schedule, you really did.

6. I love Port Hueneme. It's not much to look at but it's my new favorite place to buy things.

7. Kayley is tall enough to touch the ground at the spa and went swimming without her life jacket last week.

8. Today I remembered how it felt when I watched Kayley, Noah, Ashley and Cole: overwhelmed and out of control. Lord give me strength.

9. Those pictures of Peyton on her blog make my ovaries wiggle.

10. Katie was sick, Kayley got it, Cole got it, I got it and now Katie has it again. We're like one big happy family.

I've Got Nothin' to Not Me! Today

I'm sick. I wish I weren't. Ugh.

I got nothing today except that I hope and pray that baby Stellan will stop being sick and be able to go home.

I really need to take more pictures.

Ten On Tuesday

1. Baby Stellan still needs our prayers

2. I overdosed on pizza last night. We don't eat it very often and I was overjoyed and outa control!

3. I lost five pounds! Maybe not after last night.

4. We went to the pool yesterday to put our feet in. Cole fell in twice and the kids walked home completely soaked!

5. Coley only hit three times yesterday. We are making progress people!

6. I love taking laundry to my moms. She always folds it for me.

7. Our power was out for 12 hours yesterday and our food managed to keep. It was funny explaining to the kids the whole electricity thing. I'm sure they still don't understand but I tried.

8. I'm working on getting my daycare license again.

9. The gym is my new favorite place. I get a break from the kids and a workout is a great stress and anxiety reliever.

10. I wish I could be in Italy to meet Lindsay's baby when he comes.

Not Me! Monday

MckMama's youngest son Stellan is in the hospital today. Please pray for him. His heart is beating way too fast and he needs healing in his little body. I'm pretty sure MckMama won't be doing Not Me! Monday today but I'm still going to take a whack at it.

I had a bag of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (the kind where you add an egg and butter) in my cupboard that I desired greatly. I would never be so desperate to fulfill my sweet tooth as to sift the chocolate chips out with a strainer and make only oatmeal cookies. And in my efforts I did not burn both batches of cookies because I was distracted by my children.

I did not bargain with my husband this week about cutting Coles hair. He really wants it to grow long and I really like it short and clean cut. So I told him that I would let him grow it out after summer if he could get it cut now. So when September comes around we’ll see what kind of bargaining skills I pull out of my hat. I think he looks so handsome with short hair.

What you see below is definitely not a picture of Katie with a little green ball in her hair making her water fountain more of a water spout. And since this isn’t a picture of her with a ball in her hair then her mom did not give me a sad, I can’t believe you would do that to my child, look. And I didn’t say “oh, worse things could be done,” feeling pleased with me for being so darn funny. But none of that ever happened.

My power is so not out right now and has been out for at least a couple of hours this morning. It was kinda fun sending Tyler off to work by candlelight.

Have a great day friends!

Boxcar Parade Pictures

The parade was so much fun! The kids were all so cute and it was so great to see what all the kids and parents had come up with! The kids got to walk all the way around the church and back to the playground. Then they each had a chance to tell about their creation. Kayley was shy so Mrs. Larsen told everyone about it for her. I'm trying to upload the video but it's taking forever. So for now, enjoy the pictures!

Make sure to click on the photos to see the decorative details!

The proud tank driver poses for one last shot,
completely worn out from carrying her tank and clearly over the whole picture thing.

It seems my attempt to use this cross out deal has gone very very bad. I don't know what I did but I can't seem to fix it!

A Day Late

Ten On Tuesday

1. I’ve been going to the gym regularly and Tyler said my rear is getting smaller. Woo hoo!

2. Today is day 15 of my chocolate fast.

3. I’m wearing my Buena High School P.E. shorts with socks and I look sexy.

4. I ate two week old chicken tortilla soup and it gave me the worst farts and indigestion.

5. I almost drank moldy lemonade. I thought it was pulp because it was pink. Good thing I didn’t drink it.

6. Yesterday was my first day using coupons at the store again. I saved about 30 percent. The most I’ve saved is 65 percent.

7. Stomper lady upstairs has a garage next to ours and it’s so packed full she runs over things a lot. The other day she was backing out and ran over something. Instead of moving it she turns her wheels and runs over it again a different way. Then she gives up and gasses it completely over the object and continues on her way. It makes me wonder if she stomps upstairs because she’s jumping over all her stuff. Ha, she even wears those springy tennis shoes.

8. If I pulled one hair out for the number of times I helped resolve an argument about hitting, spitting or pushing yesterday I would be bald right now. It’s mostly Katie too. Erg.

9. My sister is here!

10. Tyler came home last night with red roses for no reason except that I’m beautiful and wonderful and everything he’s ever dreamed of. Ok, those weren’t his words but it’s true anyway.

I Don't Know...

For some reason my Not Me! Monday posted below my last post. So scroll down to check it out!

A Work in Progress

Each year the Pre-K classes at school do a boxcar parade. Kayley wanted a tank. We all know she isn't exactly a girly girl so it didn't really surprise us. Here's what she (with much help from dad) has accomplished so far.

I bet you havn't ever seen a black, blue, white, pink and red camouflage boxcar tank before. Now you have! It makes a mama proud. I'll be sure to post a picture of the finished product and maybe some of her in the parade too!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not run about the house frantically this week while Tyler chased after me holding a spider on its web. Not only did I not do that, I most definitely did not pick up Cole and hold him in front of me as a shield from the deadly creature. And I would never scream loudly and jump onto my bed, begging him to stop. It's just a little harmless creature after all.

Cole went to the bathroom and while perched upon the throne saw an ant scurry across the floor. He jumped off the potty with no regard to the issues going on behind him and plopped some poop on the floor. He grabbed some toilet paper and tried to kill the ant but dragged the paper into the poop instead. This is when he screamed for me. He didn’t care about the poop all over the floor; he just wanted the ant dead! I did not laugh hysterically and then go get the cleaner with bleach.

Katie says “paci” for pacifier but she says it with a lisp. So instead of pa-si it’s pa-thi. I did not repeatedly mock her for her speech this week. I would never do that to a child, especially since I know she can’t help it.

I will never again let my children sit, stand on or play on a treadmill. Those things are evil. Cole got an owie behind his ear from it too! How does that even happen? He spent the week asking me to please not touch the "goo" behind his ear. Once the goo dried up I most definitely did not try many times to pick his scab off. I don't love to pick and even if I did I would not try and remove Coleys' scab. I never did get it off.

So know you know the truth about the things I would not have done this week. See you next Monday!

Oh Little Coley

Me: "Can you tell me a story now?"

Cole: "Sure. Once upon a time there was a little girl named mommy. And the little boy went to the park and played with cars. The End."

Silly Kid.

Painting Fun

When I'm feeling creative I like to paint things. Here are my two latest creations. Tyler helped with taping and painting. He's so good with the details.

I really like the way they turned out. I'm going to either put pictures in the frame or write some sort of precious quote inside. We'll see. What do you think of the colors?

Ten on Tuesday

1. I just ate an entire little box of orange tic tacs.

2. I'm doing a phone interview today about watching a little 7 month old. If it works out, I can put Cole in preschool.

3. Katie isn't here today so I don't have any kids of my own but I still had to go to church and watch the Prinzings.

4. My mom and I went to Eric Ericsons for lunch. Mmm.

5. Tyler and I painted my jewelry box and picture frame last night.

6. I love Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.

7. While Cole has been up north he busted his lip on the ground and burned his arm on the treadmill. No more of that I say.

8. I made a glitter and glue "I love you Cole and Kayley" on a paper plate this morning.

9. I could do anything right now and not have to worry about pottys and sippy cups and questions galore.

10. I struggle with songs in the choir that require the sopranos to sing harmony instead of melody.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This weekend we went to visit with Tyler's aunt and uncle. We went out to dinner one night to a Chinese Buffet. I'm not a brat with food and I'll eat what is served but I was just grossed out by all the fatty choices and all the fried food. I saw so many plates piled high with food and people going back for seconds did not make me almost throw up in my mouth a little.

Aunt Lisa has a treadmill. It's open on the front as well as the back. Pillows. Kids. Danger. My kids so were not jumping on the front with pillows and sliding to the back, piling onto the floor on top of each other. I'm such a good mom so I would never let my kids do something like that, especially at 7 miles an hour and I would absolutely not jump on for a ride myself. Nope. Not me!

At the gym today I was picking up Katie at childcare and I saw a bra lying on the floor. I asked the childcare worker about it and she says "oh, that little boy over there won't be left anywhere without it!" Seriously people. A bra?! A shirt or maybe something else that smells like mom, ok. Not a bra. I so didn't judge his mother who wasn't even there. I would never do something that drastic just to get a break from my child. Or would I?

I'm enjoying two full days without my children. I'm so not missing them too. When they're here they drown out Katie's "mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom" that she says walking through the house trying to find me!

That's all I've got. It's your turn!

Another Flash Back

I've been looking through pictures and I can't help but share my faves.

Kayley loved to pick the "ya yas" outside of our Jasper apartment!

Friday is Tuesday

So here's the modified version of what I wrote on Tuesday before the internet pooped out on me.

1. I bought Tyler a new pillow on Monday and I’d like to have it for my own.

2. I registered Kayley at Mound Elementary School on Wednesday. I was surprised to see a few of Kayley's friends registering too!

3. I bought bamboo place mats at Target for $5!

4. I started a forty day fast of chocolate on Tuesday. Today is day four.

5. When my kids play buzz lightyear and woody together they get crabby and mean.

6. There were like five million one year olds at the park on Tuesday and I was surprisingly irritated that none of them could talk.

7. Tyler hasn’t been sick in a year…until now.

8. I spent an hour and a half at the Coffee Bean Monday night, alone, basking in the quiet and wondering why the heck they turn the a/c up to like 50 degrees!

9. Katie has started to yell for me. She calls me mom (she calls everyone that), but now its mo-om (with an attitude). I hate it.

10. We're helping Taryn move in with Aunt Lisa and Greg this weekend. I love going up there because they always play with the kids until really late and then they sleep in!

Time Flies...

This was October of 2005 and Kayley was 1 1/2. Gosh, kids change so fast. Look at her little teeth. Silly kid.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not walk around in sandals this weekend realizing that my feet looked gross and I could totally see the beige I tried to cover up with blue. So I grabbed the blue, dipped it in and put a huge blob of a coat over the top and called it pretty. I would never be too lazy to just remove the polish and start over again.

After being up until 11pm on Friday and having a very short nap on Saturday, my kids were sooo tired when we woke them up Saturday afternoon. Kayley sat up and mumbled things no one could understand. Tyler actually had to pick her up for her to wake up. She went to the bathroom and proceeded to remove almost all her clothing, sat on the toilet and pretty much fell back asleep whilst taking care of business. Ha! I would never peek around the corner just to watch her little tired body sway back and forth. Not me!

I went to Davids Bridal yesterday to try on my dress for Rachels wedding. We were so not the loudest people there. We dug through to find the right size (they usually run kinda big) and I'm not a 14, not a 12...I'm a 10. I know, a woman shouldn't go around telling everyone about her dress size but I'm so not smaller than I thought I would be! I guess those 18 pounds I lost are sure paying off! Anyway, Rachel's dress was so beautiful and she looked stunning. I'm going to let her wear my veil and headpiece just like Kim and Becca did! They are getting some milage:) I knew they were a good purchase.

Tyler and I went to our first marriage retreat. It was so awesome. We thought it would be so much less laid back than it really was. During one of our breaks Tyler did not carry me on his back from the 12th floor down to the bottom. And when he got tired I most definitely did not yell "you're a Marine, suck it up and keep going!" I'm not old, but that sure hurt my body. I can't imagine the suffering Tyler had to go through.

That's all I've got! Have a great week!
